Migration intelligence
OCPP 1.6J → OCPP 2.0.1 → OCPP 2.1
OCPP 2.0.1 is the current migration target for AFIR-aligned EU infrastructure. ISO 15118 PnC requires minimum 2.0.1. OCPP 2.1 (2024) adds full V2G and ABRP — most 2024+ hardware ships 2.0.1 with a 2.1 firmware upgrade path.
Security layer
Security Profile 1
TLS 1.2+ with server certificate. Basic auth or certificate identity.
Security Profile 2
TLS with client-side certificate — one-way client authentication.
Security Profile 3
Mutual TLS. Both CP and CSMS authenticated. Required for PnC deployments.
PnC certificate chain
ISO 15118 contract certificates relayed via Get15118EVCertificate. Requires V2G Root CA trust in CSMS.
